Oh man. I really went over a month without any updates? Things have been busy lately, and I kept spending idle time in front of the TV instead of the computer. Summer’s here, hopefully I’ll save up some money, and also keep this thing alive!!
Things I’ve done without previous mention:

made my Finnish “”“contact”“” reship the Hakkapeliitta album from FINRG’s store to me because their international shipping fees were ridiculous
got an iPod from my parents, which has been in use every day since
max’d the game purchase cap (new: OutRun Online Arcade, Burnout Paradise, Banjo-Tooie), what happens next I do not know. hopefully I’ll let things stay this way. actually until just now I thought I’d broken it
bought a DSLR camera from one of the largest electronics chains in Norway, which I have yet to receive more than a month after the date of purchase
had the goddamned Wii GPU overheat, gotta replace it
got a replacement for the phone that died last year, but it sucks so much i used it for a few days only before abandoning the piece of shit
ate yakiniku again (uho-)
imported the new Proteus album from Australia
watched almost five whole seasons of Stargate SG-1
beat the SNES games Aladdin and The Lion King, both for the first time, in one single gaming session
moved to a new (and larger) apartment
passed my Japanese class
??? (probably more shit I’ve forgotten)

Sorry for the boring wall of text, it’s been so long. Did anyone miss my updates? At least… I did!

REDALiCE finally got the TANO*C 8th STRIKE party report up.

Was really pumped at the beginning, because Alabaster kicks off with his fantastic new tracks!

Then comes Thanatos, but what the fuck’s up with the background? Anyway, he plays a fucking Nightwish track! An arrange of his, I assume, jesus christ. He’s so into it, singing along too, haha.

Third is USAO, I can’t give a damn about his noisy shit makina.

Now there’s my minamotoya… Aaagh. Gained a bit lately? Where’d ya learn dat dance? Please stop flipping through your CDs and take DJing seriously.

t+pazolite, your music has gone down the drain lately, sry. I still love your performance style, it’s fucking insane, but please reconsider your ways.

kenta-v.ez.’s banging the floor as usual, his track played here being a lot better than the yokohAmA jumpstyle shit.

BETWIXT & BETWEEN!!!! You’re becoming more like Alek Száhala by every appearence. Goddamn awesome live version of City of Traitors is being played. Good old Betwixt boy’s never gonna let you down.

DJ TECHNORCH has some troubles getting rigged up, but he gets by and plays a track I’ve never heard before. The guy sure loves his voice manipulator. Not as hard as I expect from him.

The video ends with REDALiCE as always, and he’s spinning up the old anthem GABBA TANO*C from his akai hito days. gj, because your recent works have all been shit. Also this is the first time I’ve seen him wear anything but red, AND he’s looking a bit cooler now. Is it the money from going commercial that makes you do this, REDALiCE? じょうだんだってば。ww(In case you’re reading this.)

Looking at my backlog, I’m once again thinking “why the fuck do you spend so much money on games you idiot”. 2008 has been the worst year (link not up to date right now), because I had lots of money on my hands. Sure, games are cool, but at some point, like when you’ve gotten nearly 80 new games in a year, AND two new consoles, AND a new handheld, it’s too much. Way too fucking much. The worst part is, I’ve beaten less than ten of those. Half of them are probably not played even once.
Just a few days ago, I was 99% ready to buy a PS3. Now I say fuck off you faggot. So… I’m planning to make a New Year’s resolution which is a game purchase cap of six titles. That’s one every two months.
I’ll save my money for household costs, a new TV, maybe taking my gal some cool places, going to Vietnam the coming summer, and finally being able to fund plane tickets so my gal can come visit me on the other side of the world during my study’s obligatory exchange program next fall. Seems like a solid plan to me.

cONSOLE wArs

Out of the nine 360 games I own so far, three are still plastic wrapped. 5/9 have never even been in the disc tray. However, I have put a hell lot of hours into the few games I’ve been playng.

More than twelve hours on Eternal Sonata, probably around twelve for Call of Duty 4 as well,10+ on DOA4, and something like ~6 on Kameo (what a shit game. Glad I’m only borrowing it).

The 360 kind of reminds me of the SNES. It’s nowhere as popular, but has so insane financial backing that it can’t just disappear like the Dreamcast. The games library is diverse, and several cool RPGs are being put out. Games that require practice, games that take fucking lot of hours to complete, not fucking casual gamer crap like Nintendo’s doing at the moment. Super Mario Galaxy was amazing, but there were only two or three difficult objectives in the whole game. 360 as a platform is taking hardcore gaming seriously, which is awesome.Hell yeah.

Also, HD. I didn’t care about graphics at all before, and I still love 2D as much, but hi-res games developed for a good GPU have room for more artistical freedom, instead of restrictions. Wii’s alright on a HDTV when using component cables, but nothing more than alright. The edges are sharp and blocky, and there’s not much to do with it when it’s all running at 480p. As previously written, Eternal Sonata is the prettiest game I’ve ever seen, and it wouldn’t be possible without 1080p. I don’t want to think about what it looks like when playing on an SDTV, because Eternal Sonata’s all about being sharp and detailed.

I guess for me, the 360 is currently the best console. It’s got the best games and gives you more power for the money. Wii only has three games coming up that I’m interested in at all; No More Heroes, Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart, while there are a whole bunch of 360 games currently available that I’d like my hands on. Casual games suck, but Nintendo earns too much money to stop this business. I miss the SNES and N64 days, but you can’t stay in the past forever.

Luckily, the DS’s library is amazing. Why the fuck would anyone want a PSP? Nintendo, please make a proper console next time, or at least stop developing boring games.

2008-02//FebRuArY//TiME

Oh wait, it’s been over a month since the last time I played Chrono Trigger? How shocking. How unexpected. And holy crap I have no sense of time. Makes waiting for stuff easier, but I’m still pretty confused.

February… We’re already there, and I barely managed to understand it’d become 2008. Where did January go? This explains why I suddenly notice I’ve gotten a stubble when looking in mirrors occasionally.

However, I refuse to be controlled by time. I do not want it to stress me. Time isn’t money. Time isn’t valuable by itself. It’s all in the choices you make, in a world where time really isn’t anything more than a human value. I say this to myself, but old-fashioned stress and ideas about “making the most out of spare time” usually end up in nothing.

When you stop trying too hard, and instead just let your mind choose what to do by itself, you become more of a living human. I strongly believe in individualism. There is no such thing as a waste of time. Everything is valuable, and also not worth anything at all.

Do what you believe in. Do what feels right. Be a responsible human being, because that’s what the Society has decided that you have to. Free your mind.

This should be enough philosophy for a long time.
